In many remote regions of Kenya children do not have a nearby local school to attend
Starting with Access
When children from remote pastoralist communities are not attending school, our first step of education advocacy must be to ensure that these children have access to a local school.

Meet Brian
When we first met Brian he was responsible for grazing his family’s herd of goats. All day, he would endure the hot sun to make sure he was guiding the goats to places where they could access the food and water they needed for survival. In this region of Kenya, where the local people make their living trading livestock, it is common for children to miss out on school.

Every sunrise brings hope
In May of 2023 Kidspire Kenya initiated the process of establishing a new school to serve the Samburu children in Kanampio Village.
Here’s an excerpt from a recent blog post about the new school: Inevitably, once the sun has risen, it won’t be long before the earliest of the enthusiastic children begin arriving to the front gates of school. In a community where the time is largely based on the sun’s location in the sky, the sunrise indicates it is time for school. For a community that has never previously had a school, that reality is something meaningful.
